Failure to Diagnose and Misdiagnosis
Failure to diagnose and misdiagnosis of an illness and injury are the basis of many medical malpractice lawsuits in Georgia. Contact Gunnels Law Firm.
What is failure to diagnose?
One interesting type of case we see on a fairly regular basis is a medical malpractice case known as a “failure to diagnose.” When a patient is put through a series of tests that may indicate many types of afflictions or illnesses but doctors miss it and cause harm to the patient as a result, the case is born out of that failure to diagnose. We most often see these in cancer cases when there are indicators that are not picked up on; in some cases, that means that a person’s cancer gets further down the line and the treatment is either not effective or it has to be more drastic than it would have been, if the cancer had been identified early on.
If you have been in a situation where you feel like a doctor who was treating you or a loved one did not diagnose the condition that you had in time, and that was negligent on the part of the doctor, please give us a call as early on in the process as you can so that we can help you negotiate this situation and see if you may have a potential medical malpractice claim for failure to diagnose.
If you or a loved one was seriously injured due to hospital negligence in Georgia, you may have questions about filing a failure to diagnose claim.
